Palenque is a city in the Mexican state of Chiapas. The city of Palenque has many hotels of various categories which host most of those who visit the archaeological site of Palenque, the waterfalls of Misol-Ha, Agua Azul and Agua Clara, the river Chacamax (Nututun).

Located northwest of the state of Chiapas, about 290 km from the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez and 220 km of San Cristóbal de las Casas, Palenque is one of the most important archeological sites of the Mayan world, a destination that is simply not to be missed during your next trip to southern Mexico.

Nestled in the heart of a tropical jungle, with an average temperature of 26 ° C, with torrential rains during the summer, Palenque offers its visitors a striking image of its temples and buildings explored since the 19th century, and dating from the Classical Period (400-700 AD). You can go trekking around the ruins and appreciate the flora and fauna, while exploring the more than 1,700 ha. which are the Palenque National Park, where different types of birds and mammals such as jaguars and howler monkeys.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF PALENQUE
